On its floors, looking over the Temple of Literature, the Maison des Arts offers a generous choice of pleasure and discovery: First floor : traditionnal values of vietnamese culture and spa-massage Dedicated first to contemporary art, the Maison des Arts has made it contribution by holding events to develop local, national and international cultural activities that have won public appreciation with the qualities of its supplies. With one exhibition per month, the Maison des Arts develops art diversity with paintings, sculptures, photographies, graphic designs, some still in more experimental approaches . Mme. Nguyen Nga The proprietess of The Maison des Arts, Mme. Nguyen Nga, an overseas vietnamese national, is doing her best to diffuse the Vietnamese art values. Born in the North of Vietnam, Mme. Nguyen Nga left Vietnam in 1972 to study specialities of designing, urban project and architecture in Paris, France. In 1986, the Association for Vietnamese Residents in France requested her to design a place for the Vietnamese nationals to meet, exchange, and find out about traditional culture. Therefore, she founded “Maison du Vietnam” in Paris with the activities of popularizing the national culture. “I have done all this because I always wish to know and understand my nation profoundly. This may be a marvelous adventure, but above all, I sincerely wish to make a small contribution to the development and diffusion of Vietnamese art.” Mme. Nguyen Nga |
